Job summary

Health Network Laboratories, LLC is seeking a dependable courier to transport supplies, mail, and clinical lab specimens between locations. The role requires safe operation of a vehicle, adherence to schedules, and accurate communication with the dispatcher and management.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED and understands basic English reading/writing, simple math, and maps. Training on devices and safety modules is provided; a valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Education/Experience: High school diploma or GED; or 1–3 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Language Ability: Read and comprehend simple instructions in English.
• Writing: Write simple correspondence in English.
• Communication: Effectively present information to customers, clients, and other employees.
• Math Ability: Basic math including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
• Reasoning Ability: Apply common sense understanding to follow written or oral instructions.
• Ability to read and comprehend road maps.
• Computer Skills: Knowledge of e-mail and handheld computers (training provided).
• Certificates and Licences: Valid driver's license from state of residence.
• MVR: Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record monitored yearly.

Responsibilities

• Transports supplies, mail, and clinical lab specimens to and from designated locations according to policies and procedures.
• Coordinates activities and assignments with dispatcher.
• Notifies Manager or designee of issues affecting daily schedule.
• Verifies daily pickups and deliveries according to policies.
• Operates vehicle safely and always wears a seatbelt.
• Alerts leadership of issues affecting vehicle performance.
• Performs duties independently with little supervision, offering to help when needed.
• May assist with training/orientation/ride-along for new staff as needed.
• Maintains vehicle cleanliness and takes to car wash as needed.
• Operates equipment and vehicles safely by following safety protocols.
• Remains detail oriented to protect specimen integrity and meet turnaround times.
• Uses hand-held devices, computers, tablets and different apps/software.
• Adapts to logistics technology changes and upgrades.
• Completes monthly driver safety modules as assigned.
• All training and policy acknowledgements completed by due dates.
• Communicates professionally with management, clients, and coworkers.
• Discussions remain cordial, positive and solution-focused.
