Job summary

Cullman Regional in Cullman, AL is seeking a dependable phlebotomist to support patient care in the laboratory and front desk areas. This full-time daytime role involves specimen collection, data entry, and specimen processing.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, and phlebotomy certification is preferred. Prior phlebotomy experience is also preferred to ensure smooth operations and accurate results.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred.
• Six months of phlebotomy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Register patients/specimens appropriately in the hospital information system with required information.
• Process physician orders for test specimen requirements; collect/receive specimens into the laboratory information system, utilizing appropriate technique and working exceptions as needed.
• Perform waived kit testing, as appropriate.
• Assist in front desk duties as well as outpatient workflow as needed.
• In the absence of the pathology assistant, function to process pathology specimens and reports as needed.
• Collect chain of custody urine drug screens and breathalyzer tests.
• Demonstrate and encourage team behavior and exceptional patient/guest experiences.
• Uphold and promote patient safety and quality.
