Job summary

Cullman Regional Medical Center in Cullman, AL is seeking a Phlebotomist to support our hospital's patient care team. Responsibilities include registering patients, collecting specimens, and processing orders in the LIS.

This is a full-time, day-shift, on-site role focused on accuracy and patient safety. Education requires a high school diploma or equivalent; Phlebotomy certification is preferred, with at least six months of phlebotomy experience.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Phlebotomy certification preferred.
• Experience: Six months of phlebotomy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Register patients/specimens appropriately in the hospital information system with required information.
• Process physician orders for test specimen requirements; collect/receive specimens into the laboratory information system, utilizing appropriate technique and working exceptions as needed.
• Perform waived kit testing, as appropriate.
• Assist in front desk duties as well as outpatient workflow as needed.
• In the absence of the pathology assistant, function to process pathology specimens and reports as needed.
• Collect chain of custody urine drug screens and breathalyzer tests.
• Demonstrate and encourage team behavior and exceptional patient/guest experiences.
• Uphold and promote patient safety and quality.
