Job summary

Clean Harbors Grassy Mountain Landfill in Clive, UT is seeking a Lab Chemist Intern to join our safety‑focused team for Summer 2027.

This in-person internship offers hands‑on experience supporting projects across environmental, energy, and industrial services while learning from experienced professionals. Start dates are May 17 or May 24, 2027, with internships running through August and competitive pay.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in biology or chemistry at an accredited college or university.
• Experience in a laboratory setting.
• Knowledge of wastewater, ICP instrumentation, and wet chemistry is a plus.
• Ability to document, record, and analyze data.

Responsibilities

• Maintain health and safety as a priority and follow all safety policies.
• Learn about the analysis of various metals, including mercury.
• Learn wet chemistry testing (chlorine and fluoride analysis).
• Learn analysis of facility samples and instrumentation (GC, IC, ICP).
• Shadow supervisor and technician to gain hands-on experience.
• Document, review, and validate data and laboratory records.
