Job summary

Clean Harbors Bristol, CT Facility is seeking a Lab Chemist Intern to join our safety-focused team for Summer 2027. This in-person internship provides hands-on experience supporting projects across environmental, energy, and industrial services.

You'll work with experienced professionals at our Bristol facility, learn lab techniques, safety procedures, and project coordination while contributing to real business priorities.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a chemistry degree at an accredited college/university.
• Solid understanding of math, chemistry and chemical testing.
• Experience in a laboratory setting.
• Strong interest in the environmental services industry.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a professional team environment.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize health and safety in all tasks and follow safe work practices.
• Maintain a safe lab environment in compliance with OSHA and company protocols.
• Perform sample analyses following prescribed procedures and solve minor problems.
• Calibrate and use instrumentation.
• Maintain equipment and suggest improvements.
• Complete paperwork for analyses neatly and timely.
• Ensure QA/QC guidelines are met.
• Manage supplies and maintain good housekeeping.
• Properly manage waste from analytical procedures.
