Job summary

Abbott in Columbus, Ohio is seeking a Lab Analyst to perform analytical testing for vitamin analysis and in-process finished products. The role involves HPLC, GC, and ICP-OES analysis, as well as titration, pH testing, and moisture determinations to ensure quality and compliance.

You will train new hires on lab methods, support instrument maintenance, and assist during shifts to meet production schedules while adhering to EH&S policies.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent, plus 1 year of appropriate college science related studies and 1 year of college mathematics (algebra, geometry, or calculus).
• 3+ years of experience in a lab.
• Knowledge of analytical lab instrumentation HPLC, GC, ICP, general titration methods, pH testing.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions, prepare simple reports, read and record gauge readings using chemistry knowledge with some supervision.
• Math knowledge including basic operations and proportions; keyboard skills; desirable statistical understanding.

Responsibilities

• Perform analytical testing for in-process and finished product for vitamin analysis by HPLC, GC, ICP-OES, Mojonnier fat, and other methods.
• Conduct ingredient analysis including titrations, moisture testing, organoleptic testing, sediment testing, and peroxide.
• Perform ELISA and Romer allergen testing as required by procedures.
• Support instrument issues and communicate root causes; assess day-to-day operations to meet schedule.
