Job summary

Clean Harbors located in Cleveland, OH is seeking a Lab Chemist to perform sample preparation and analyze samples to determine chemical properties, supporting chemical disposal operations in the Cleveland facility.

The role offers day training with a transition to 2nd shift (3:30pm–12am, Mon-Fri) and overtime as needed. Competitive hourly pay with shift differential and full-time benefits are included.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemistry or physical science required.
• 1-5 years hands-on laboratory experience with wet chemistry testing methods.
• Experience with chromatography, spectroscopy, and titration preferred.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Effective written and verbal communication; able to work in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Ensures Health and Safety is the number one goal by following policies and maintaining a safe work environment.
• Maintains a safe working environment in compliance with OSHA regulations and company protocols.
• Performs analysis of samples following prescribed procedures and resolves minor problems.
• Calibrates and utilizes instrumentation.
• Maintains equipment and suggests solutions to problems.
• Completes all analysis paperwork neatly and timely.
• Ensures all work meets QA/QC guidelines.
• Manages supplies and proper housekeeping in area of responsibility.
• Manages waste generated from analytical procedures.
