Job summary

Priority One Services is seeking a Cagewash Technician for the Durham, NC area. You will operate cagewash equipment, handle cages and related gear, and maintain a clean animal care environment.

Responsibilities include sanitizing equipment, disposing of waste per regulations, and assisting with routine maintenance. You will need a high school diploma and English literacy, with potential to pursue ALAT certification after one year.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must have knowledge of autoclaves, automated cage washing machines, conveyors, bedding disposal, bottle fillers, and rack flush station.
• Must be able to work with various cleaning and sanitizing chemicals.
• Must be willing to pursue AALAS ALAT certification after one year of employment.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to cooperate with co-workers and function in a customer-client atmosphere.

Responsibilities

• Clean, sanitize, or sterilize caging or equipment using automated cagewash machines, autoclaves, bottle fillers, and bedding dump stations.
• Dispose of waste in compliance with university and federal/state regulations.
• Perform minor/preventative maintenance of caging and equipment.
• Move and deliver feed/bedding sacks, cages, racks, pans, carts, and other equipment.
• Ensure adherence to SOPs and QA/QC programs.
