Job summary

Charles River Laboratories in Bethesda, MD is seeking a Cagewash Attendant I to join the Insourcing Solutions team. You will sanitize, maintain and repair cagewash materials to support compliant operations.

The role involves following SOPs, performing routine maintenance on cagewash equipment, and assisting with inventory while supporting animal care as needed. This is an entry-level position with opportunities to pursue ALAT certification and grow within the company.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Knowledge of detergent/disinfectant and operating knowledge of sanitization and sterilization equipment.
• Cagewash experience preferred.
• Must be successful in obtaining the ALAT (Assistant Lab Animal Technician) Certification within 1 year of eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Follow SOPs and quality assurance standards.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance on cagewash and autoclaves.
• Maintain animal holding facilities clean and organized.
• Other tasks may include assist with receipt, stocking and maintenance of inventory supplies.
• Become involved in animal care and husbandry of multiple animal species.
