GenScript USA Inc. in New Jersey is seeking an Automation Engineer to provide daily technical support for laboratory automation platforms at the Piscataway site.

You will troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, sensor and software issues while supporting major automation systems such as Tecan and Hamilton. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in engineering and 1+ year of relevant experience, with strong problem-solving and documentation skills.

Qualifications

• BS degree in engineering field (mechanical/electrical/mechatronics/automation).
• 1+ year in equipment support, automation, maintenance or related field.
• Hands-on troubleshooting of mechanical and/or electrical equipment.
• Ability to read technical manuals, schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Strong documentation and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily technical support for laboratory automation platforms.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, sensor, robotic, and software issues.
• Support platforms such as Tecan, Hamilton, and other lab automation equipment.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to improve reliability.
• Conduct root cause analysis for failures and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain service history and troubleshooting records.
• Develop and update SOPs, work instructions, and knowledge bases.
• Assist with equipment installation, commissioning, upgrades, and small projects.
• Collaborate with lab users to resolve issues and improve operations.
