Job summary

Piedmont Columbus Northside is seeking a Phlebotomist to perform sample collection, processing and exempt screening in accordance with CMS (CLIA '88) and Piedmont policies. Venipuncture and blood specimen preparation are part of the role.

Education requires a GED; no experience is required though 1 year as a phlebotomist or EKG experience is preferred. CPT phlebotomy certification is preferred. Roles may involve work in healthcare settings across Georgia.

Qualifications

Responsibilities:

Performs sample processing and exempt screening and monitoring tests in accordance with CMS (CLIA '88), OSHA and other applicable regulatory, established standards as may be applicable. Performs venipunctures at entities where applicable, and obtains/prepares blood specimens in accordance with Piedmont policies and procedures. Assists technical staff in non-clinical tasks.

Qualifications:

Education

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required

Work Experience

• No experience required Required
• 1 year of experience as a phlebotomist Preferred
• Experience in performing EKGs Preferred
• Experience working in healthcare or clinical laboratory setting Preferred

Licenses and Certifications

• CPT - Phlebotomy Technician Certification Phlebotomy certification through ASCP, ASPT, NCA or equivalent agency Preferred
