Job summary

Piedmont Columbus Northside is seeking a phlebotomist to join our clinical laboratory team. This role processes samples and performs venipunctures, ensuring specimens are collected and prepared in accordance with CMS CLIA requirements.

The position supports exempt screening and related duties in a fast-paced healthcare setting. No experience is required; however, 1 year of phlebotomy experience and EKG experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED required.
• No experience required; 1 year phlebotomy preferred; EKG experience preferred; healthcare/clinical lab experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs sample processing and exempt screening tests per CMS CLIA and Piedmont standards.
• Performs venipunctures and prepares blood specimens.
• Assists technical staff with non-clinical tasks.

Responsibilities:

Performs sample processing and exempt screening and monitoring tests in accordance with CMS (CLIA '88), OSHA and other applicable regulatory, established standards as may be applicable. Performs venipunctures at entities where applicable, and obtains/prepares blood specimens in accordance with Piedmont policies and procedures. Assists technical staff in non-clinical tasks.

Qualifications:

Education

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required

Work Experience

• No experience required Required
• 1 year of experience as a phlebotomist Preferred
• Experience in performing EKGs Preferred
• Experience working in healthcare or clinical laboratory setting Preferred

Licenses and Certifications

• None Required
• CPT - Phlebotomy Technician Certification Phlebotomy certification through ASCP, ASPT, NCA or equivalent agency Preferred
