Job summary

Labcorp in Jacksonville, FL seeks a Lab Assistant to join our team on a PRN basis. Responsibilities include receiving and sorting clinical specimens, preparing them for testing, data entry, and maintaining equipment and clean work areas.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma and up to 6 months of medical or lab experience, with strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Ability to pass a color blind test and overtime flexibility are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 6 months or more of medical/lab, specimen accessioning, production or warehouse experience.

Responsibilities

• Receive and sort clinical lab specimens.
• Prepare specimens for testing and analysis.
• Scan and/or data entry of specimen and patient information.
• Ensure all lab equipment is working properly and perform minor instrumentation maintenance.
• Troubleshoot any specimen related issues.
• Replenish test bench supplies as needed.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Complete record logs and other administrative duties as requested.
• Follow all SOPs to ensure safety and quality standards.
