Job summary

Piedmont Columbus Northside in Columbus, GA is seeking a Lab Assistant for the night shift to support processing, testing, and specimen handling in a busy clinical laboratory.

You will perform venipunctures, prepare blood specimens, and assist technical staff while maintaining compliance with CMS/CLIA and Piedmont policies. Education: HS diploma or GED required; phlebotomy certification preferred; healthcare experience helpful.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required.
• No experience required.
• 1 year of experience as a phlebotomist preferred.
• EKGs preferred.
• Experience in healthcare or clinical laboratory setting preferred.
• CPT - Phlebotomy Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs sample processing and exempt screening and monitoring tests per CMS/CLIA and other applicable standards.
• Performs venipunctures and prepares blood specimens in accordance with Piedmont policies.
• Assists technical staff in non-clinical tasks.

Responsibilities

Performs sample processing and exempt screening and monitoring tests in accordance with CMS (CLIA '88), OSHA and other applicable regulatory, established standards as may be applicable. Performs venipunctures at entities where applicable, and obtains/prepares blood specimens in accordance with Piedmont policies and procedures. Assists technical staff in non-clinical tasks.

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required

• 1 year of experience as a phlebotomist Preferred
• Experience in performing EKGs Preferred
• Experience working in healthcare or clinical laboratory setting Preferred
