Job summary

Labcorp in Holyoke, MA is seeking a Lab Assistant to join our team. The role involves receiving and preparing clinical lab specimens, data entry, and maintaining equipment under strict SOPs.

The position requires a high school diploma and offers a Monday–Friday night shift from 11:30pm to 8am. Preferred candidates have 3+ months of specimen processing or laboratory experience and demonstrate strong attention to detail, reliability, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Prefer 3+ months of specimen processing experience.
• Comfort with handling biological specimens and performing basic tests.
• Must be able to pass a color-vision test and maintain accurate data entry and records.

Responsibilities

• Receive and sort clinical lab specimens.
• Prepare specimens for testing and analysis.
• Scan and/or enter specimen and patient data.
• Ensure lab equipment is functioning and perform basic maintenance.
• Troubleshoot specimen-related issues as needed.
• Replenish test bench supplies and maintain stock.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Complete logs and administrative duties per procedures.
• Follow SOPs to ensure safety and quality standards.

Labcorp is seeking a Lab Assistant to join our team at Holyoke, MA.

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 11:30pm-8am

Job Responsibilities

• Receive and sort clinical lab specimens
• Prepare specimens for testing and analysis
• Scan and/or data entry of specimen and patient information
• Ensure all lab equipment is working properly and perform minor instrumentation maintenance
• Troubleshoot any specimen related issues
• Replenish test bench supplies as needed
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Complete record logs and other administrative duties as requested
• Follow all Standard Operating Procedures to ensure safety and quality standards

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

• 3 months or more of specimen processing experience
• 3 months or more of medical or laboratory experience

Pay Range: $20.25-$23.25/hr. + Shift Differential

Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan.
