Job summary

Kettering Health Main Campus in Ohio is seeking a part-time Lab Assistant to support routine laboratory operations during day shifts. You will collect, process, and prepare specimens, help maintain equipment, and document activities to ensure accurate results.

This role requires a high school diploma or GED, and a valid driver's license if transportation of specimens is needed. Prior phlebotomy or specimen processing experience is preferred.

Responsibilities & Requirements

The Lab Assistant supports laboratory operations by collecting, processing, and preparing specimens, maintaining equipment, and ensuring accurate documentation to facilitate timely and reliable diagnostic testing. This role contributes to patient care, safety, and operational reliability by following regulatory standards and supporting efficient laboratory workflows. Performs other duties as assigned. All job responsibilities are to be carried out in alignment with Kettering Health's mission, vision, values, and B Safe program. High school diploma or GED. None required. Valid State of Ohio Driver's License if role includes specimen transportation.

Preferred Qualifications

Completion of a Medical Lab Assistant training program or relevant coursework Six months to one year of experience in phlebotomy and/or specimen processing, or equivalent healthcare/laboratory experience
