Job summary

Kettering Health is seeking a Lab Assistant to support the Miamisburg lab on a PRN basis. You will collect, process, and prepare specimens, maintain lab equipment, and document results accurately to ensure timely diagnostic testing.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, and preferably completed a Medical Lab Assistant training program or coursework, plus 6–12 months of phlebotomy or specimen processing experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Six months to one year of experience in phlebotomy and/or specimen processing or equivalent healthcare/laboratory experience.
• Valid State of Ohio Driver's License if role includes specimen transportation.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities & Requirements

The Lab Assistant supports laboratory operations by collecting, processing, and preparing specimens, maintaining equipment, and ensuring accurate documentation to facilitate timely and reliable diagnostic testing. This role contributes to patient care, safety, and operational reliability by following regulatory standards and supporting efficient laboratory workflows. Performs other duties as assigned. All job responsibilities are to be carried out in alignment with Kettering Health's mission, vision, values, and B Safe program.
