Job summary

LabCorp in Tampa, FL is seeking a Lab Assistant to join our team. In this role you will receive and sort clinical lab specimens, prepare specimens for testing, and perform basic instrumentation maintenance.

You will data enter patient information, maintain a clean, safe work area, and follow standard operating procedures to ensure safety and quality. The position requires a high school diploma and a willingness to work Saturdays through Wednesday.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Basic computer skills and data entry ability are required.
Ability to work independently and in a team with strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Receive and sort clinical lab specimens
Prepare specimens for testing and analysis
Scan and/or data entry of specimen and patient information
Ensure all lab equipment is working and perform minor instrumentation maintenance
Troubleshoot specimen-related issues
Replenish test bench supplies as needed
Maintain a clean and safe work environment
Complete record logs and other administrative duties as requested
Follow all Standard Operating Procedures to ensure safety and quality standards
