Job summary

Central Piedmont Community College in Matthews, NC is seeking a Laboratory Coordinator to plan and coordinate laboratory activities supporting instructional programs.

Responsibilities include monitoring lab sessions, ensuring safety, preparing facilities, maintaining equipment, managing inventories, and keeping accurate records of attendance and grades. Associate's degree or two years' experience required; strong organization and ability to work with diverse students are essential.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Monitors laboratory/clinical/on-line activities; enforces rules and regulations and ensures a safe environment.
• Monitors students in a lab setting; processes basic data entry.
• Prepares facility for classes and ensures work areas are clean and neat; ensures that equipment, materials, and handouts are laid out for classes.
• Assists in maintaining laboratory equipment; performs simple maintenance, cleans and stores equipment when not in use, monitors condition, and notifies supervisor of any needed repairs.
• Monitors inventory of materials and supplies, initiates ordering process as needed.
• Maintains a library of materials which may include books, tapes, and magazines.
• Maintains records of laboratory activities and student files including grades and attendance.
• Additional job-related duties as required by Program Chair.
