Job summary

Central Piedmont Community College in Charlotte, NC invites applications for a Laboratory Assistant role supporting daily lab and classroom activities. The incumbent monitors laboratory/clinical/on-line activities, assists in preparing facilities, maintains equipment, and tracks materials and student records.

This position requires strong organizational skills and the ability to work with diverse individuals.

Responsibilities

• Monitors laboratory/clinical/on-line activities; enforces rules and regulations and ensures a safe environment.
• Monitors students in a lab setting; processes basic data entry.
• Prepares facility for classes and ensures work areas are clean and neat; lays out equipment, materials, and handouts.
• Assists in maintaining laboratory equipment; performs simple maintenance, cleans and stores equipment, monitors condition, notifies supervision of repairs.
• Monitors inventory of materials and supplies, initiates ordering process as needed.
• Maintains a library of materials (books, tapes, magazines).
• Maintains records of laboratory activities and student files including grades and attendance.
• Performs additional duties as required by Sr. Program Coordinator.
