Job summary

Northeast Baptist Hospital, part of Tenet Healthcare, is seeking a Laboratory Assistant II to perform routine technical and clerical tasks including specimen registration, venipuncture, and CLIA-waived tests. You will label tubes, assist with microbiology processing, and ensure specimen integrity throughout the workflow.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or equivalent.
• Completion of a Phlebotomy program preferred.
• One year of laboratory experience or completion of a formal phlebotomy training program.
• Phlebotomy Certification as required by state law.
• Completion of formal phlebotomy training or national certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs venous and capillary phlebotomy.
• Maintains specimen integrity and labeling protocols.
• Processes blood and body fluids for analyses.
• Tests specimens under supervision for clinical studies.
• Reports lab results accurately and responds to abnormal results.
• Inputs data into the laboratory computer system.
• Assists in stocking and maintaining inventory.
• Trains phlebotomists or laboratory students.
• Operates basic laboratory equipment and medical software.
• Adheres to safety procedures and emergency protocols.
