Baptist Health System is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Assistant II – Phlebotomist to perform routine phlebotomy and clerical duties in our fast-paced laboratory. The CLA II will handle venipuncture, specimen labeling, and distribution of specimens, and will assist with basic microbiology tasks as needed.
The role involves processing and routing specimens to BHS or reference laboratories, entering data, and ensuring specimen integrity while adhering to safety protocols.

The Clinical Laboratory Assistant II – Phlebotomist performs routine technical and clerical functions to include specimen registration and billing. The CLA II performs venipuncture-capillary puncture as assigned; labels tubes and specimen containers, specimen receipt and distribution of laboratory specimens. The lab assistant II - phlebotomist performs CLIA waived laboratory tests as requested. Will assist in microbiology processing and plating specimens, as requested and completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period.
High School Graduate or equivalent.
Completion of a Phlebotomy program
One year of clinical laboratory experience and/or completion of a formal phlebotomy training program.
Basic laboratory computer/lab information system experience preferred.
Completion of formal phlebotomy training program and/or national phlebotomy certification through ASCP, ANP, ASPT or similar.
