Job summary

The Hospitals of Providence - Memorial Campus Hospital in El Paso seeks a Nights shift Phlebotomist to join our laboratory team. You will perform venipuncture, receipt and distribution of specimens, and conduct CLIA-waived tests as requested.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent; preferred: phlebotomy program. Experience of 1 year in a laboratory setting is required; state-mandated phlebotomy certification is required, with preferred national certification where applicable.

Qualifications

• Education: high school diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred: completion of a phlebotomy program.
• Experience: 1 year of laboratory experience.
• Certifications: phlebotomy certification where required by state law.
• Preferred: national phlebotomy certification (ASCP/ANP/ASPT or similar).

Responsibilities

Performs routine technical and clerical functions. Performs venipuncture, specimen receipt and distribution of laboratory specimens; will perform CLIA waived laboratory tests, as requested.

Responsibilities

Performs routine technical and clerical functions to include specimen registration and billing. Performs specimen receipt and distribution of laboratory specimens. Performs phlebotomy duties as assigned. Will perform waived testing, and assist in microbiology processing and plating specimens, as requested.

Qualifications

Education:

Required: High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred: Completion of a phlebotomy program

Experience:

Required: 1 year of laboratory experience and/or completion of a formal phlebotomy training program
Preferred: In addition to above, basic laboratory computer/lab information system experience

Certifications:

Required: Phlebotomy certification where State law requires
Preferred: Completion of formal phlebotomy training program and/or national phlebotomy certification through ASCP, ANP, ASPT or similar
