Job description

Lab Assistant II - Cleveland, OH - Tuesday - Saturday 4:00PM-12:30AM

Department: Clin Lab - Auto Chemistry

Performs routine laboratory functions accurately to assist laboratory staff and facilitate production.

Pay Range: $17.20+ per hour. Employee may be eligible for shift differentials of 10% for some or all hours on second shift and 15% on third shift. Additional details will be provided if an offer is extended.

Salary offers depend on skills, experience, education, certifications, market, and organizational factors. Successful candidates may be eligible for an annual performance bonus.

Responsibilities:

1. Receive, label, handle, and prepare specimens.
2. Assist with pre-analytical specimen preparation and data entry.
3. Monitor and record temperature; notify if out of range.
4. Maintain equipment and prepare reagents.
5. Clean and organize work areas and equipment.
6. Manage pending/overdue lists, file documentation.
7. Perform departmental tasks like filing, archiving, answering phones.
8. Dispose of biohazardous waste.
9. Enter data into laboratory systems, perform QA/QC.
10. Complete training and safety protocols.
11. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required: 1 year full-time experience in a clinical or technical lab.

Physical & Mental Requirements:

• Lift/carry up to 50 lbs with assistance for heavier objects.
• Stand and work at benches for long periods.
• Manual dexterity for pipetting and instrument use.

Knowledge & Skills:

Basic departmental policies; detail-oriented; independent; good communication; confidentiality; proficiency in Microsoft Office and LIS.

High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
