Job summary

Piedmont Henry Hospital is seeking a Phlebotomy Technician to join our hospital team. You will collect blood samples, perform venipunctures, and assist with exempt screening and monitoring tests in compliance with CMS/CLIA and Piedmont policies.

No prior experience is required, and some positions prefer 1 year of phlebotomy or EKG experience in a healthcare or clinical laboratory environment. Certification in phlebotomy is preferred.

Qualifications

• 1 year of phlebotomy experience preferred
• Experience in performing EKGs preferred
• Experience in healthcare or clinical laboratory setting preferred
• Phlebotomy certification preferred

Responsibilities:

Performs sample processing and exempt screening and monitoring tests in accordance with CMS (CLIA '88), OSHA and other applicable regulatory, established standards as may be applicable. Performs venipunctures at entities where applicable, and obtains/prepares blood specimens in accordance with Piedmont policies and procedures. Assists technical staff in non-clinical tasks.

Qualifications:

Education

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required

Work Experience

• No experience required Required
• 1 year of experience as a phlebotomist Preferred
• Experience in performing EKGs Preferred
• Experience working in healthcare or clinical laboratory setting Preferred

Licenses and Certifications

• None Required
• CPT - Phlebotomy Technician Certification Phlebotomy certification through ASCP, ASPT, NCA or equivalent agency Preferred
