Job summary

Health Ministries Clinic in Newton, Kansas, is seeking a dependable Lab Assistant to join our laboratory team. The full-time role features a 4-day workweek with a schedule from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM or 6:00 PM, and potential Tuesday extensions during a Friday-off rotation.

You will assist with receiving, labeling, processing, and preparing specimens, support in-house testing, perform phlebotomy, and maintain documentation while upholding HIPAA and safety standards in a fast-paced clinical setting.

Qualifications

• Previous laboratory, healthcare, or specimen-processing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with receiving, labeling, processing, and preparing patient specimens
• Support in-house laboratory testing and reference laboratory send-outs
• Collect patient samples using phlebotomy procedures and direct patients/nursing staff in proper specimen collection
• Maintain accurate documentation and records
• Assist with laboratory equipment, supplies, and routine maintenance
• Follow established safety, quality, and infection-control procedures
• Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA
• Work closely with laboratory and clinical staff to ensure timely specimen processing
• Help maintain an organized, clean, and efficient laboratory environment

Health Ministries Clinic is looking for a dependable, detail-oriented Lab Assistant to join our laboratory team. This is a great opportunity to be part of a mission-driven healthcare organization where your work directly supports quality patient care in our community.

This full-time position offers a 4-day workweek . The regular schedule is 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM or 6:00 PM . On Tuesdays , the workday may extend to 6:30 PM or 7:00 PM when you are scheduled for the Friday-off rotation .

What You’ll Do
