Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Lab Assistant to join our Calabasas, CA team. This night shift role runs Sunday through Thursday from 10:00 pm to 6:30 am, with rotating weekends.

The position involves handling specimens, data entry, and maintaining equipment in a fast-paced lab environment. We offer competitive pay ($17.75–$22.76/hour) plus shift differential, benefits including Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), PTO/FTO, and tuition reimbursement, and equal opportunity employment.

Responsibilities

• Receive and sort clinical lab specimens
• Prepare specimens for testing and analysis
• Scan and/or data entry of specimen and patient information
• Ensure all lab equipment is working properly and perform minor instrumentation maintenance
• Troubleshoot any specimen related issues
• Replenish test bench supplies as needed
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Complete record logs and other administrative duties as requested
• Follow all Standard Operating Procedures to ensure safety and quality standards

Labcorp is seeking a Lab Assistant to join our team Calabasas, CA.

Work Schedule

Sunday-Thursday 10:00pm to 6:30am rotating weekends, additional days and hours may be required based on business needs

Job Responsibilities

• Receive and sort clinical lab specimens
• Prepare specimens for testing and analysis
• Scan and/or data entry of specimen and patient information
• Ensure all lab equipment is working properly and perform minor instrumentation maintenance

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent

Preferred Qualification

• Current or prior Labcorp experience
• 3 months or more of experience in the healthcare industry, such as a physician's office, clinic or hospital
• 3 months or more of experience in an assembly or manufacturing production environment
• 3 months or more of experience in a medical/clinical laboratory experience

Additional Job Standards

• Comfortability with handling biological specimens
• Ability to accurately identify specimens
• Basic computer knowledge and data entry skills
• High level of attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and multitask
• Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment and meet established turn-around times
• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
• Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed
• Pay Range: $17.75 - $22.76 per hour. Plus shift differential
