Job summary

Cullman Regional Medical Center is seeking a PRN phlebotomist to support the hospital’s blood collection and specimen processing needs. The role requires accurate data entry, specimen labeling, and timely transport to the Laboratory Information System.

Responsibilities include processing physician orders, collecting specimens, assisting in front desk duties, and performing urine drug screens as needed. The candidate should have high school education and phlebotomy certification.

• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.

• Processes physicians' orders for test specimen requirements; collects/receives specimens into the Laboratory Information System, utilizing appropriate technique and working exceptions as needed.
• Assists in front desk duties as well as outpatient workflow as needed.
• In the absence of the pathology assistant, functions to process pathology specimens and reports as needed.
• Collects/processes Chain of Custody urine drug screens and Breathalyzer tests.
