Job summary

Qualifications

• Lab Animal Assistant: High school diploma or equivalent; 0-1 year related experience.
• Tech Assistant Lab Animal: High school diploma or equivalent plus either 1 year lab animal experience or ALAT certification.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize animal cages and equipment using autoclave.
• Feed, water and change cages; report health or environmental issues; perform rodent euthanasia.
• Receive and house animals; store and handle feed and bedding.
• Assist scientists with animal care; provide on-site training on handling and garb.
• Document completed tasks; report malfunctions or illness to supervisor.
