Job summary

BIOQUAL in Rockville, MD is seeking a Study Coordinator to move research studies from concept to completion. You will develop study schedules, manage cost models, and coordinate animal protocol submissions to meet USDA, AALAC, and OLAW standards.

Responsibilities include liaising with clients and internal teams, preparing AAALAC/USDA/OLAW reports, tracking study progress, and ensuring accurate data and timely communication across departments.

Qualifications

• BS degree and minimum 4 years of relevant laboratory animal experience.
• Ability to communicate in English with reading, math and writing skills.
• AALAS certification and understanding of lab animal welfare regulations.
• Able to lift 50 lbs and handle physical tasks.
• Knowledge of federal laws and industry guidelines for animal care.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and able to multitask.
• Strong written and verbal communication with management and staff.
• Proficient in MS Office and basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to discuss study design needs.
• Develop cost assumptions and review quotes for accuracy.
• Coordinate interdepartmental activities to support each study.
• Assist PIs with creating study schedules understood by all parties.
• Communicate with study personnel to avoid conflicts across studies.
• Prepare AAALAC, USDA, and OLAW annual reports.
• Ensure data in facility databases is accurate and timely.
• Conduct technical procedures per client specifications.
• Help IACUC Coordinator develop SOPs and document training.
• Ensure samples are collected, processed, and shipped per client instructions.
• Track labor and costs to stay within quotes and maintain profitability.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
