The University of Miami's Division of Veterinary Resources is seeking a dedicated Animal Care Technician to join the Medical Campus team in Miami. You will provide daily care for various animal species, including non-human primates, and assist with procedures under supervision.

Required are a high school diploma or equivalent, and at least 1 year of animal care experience; AALAS ALAT certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• AALAS ALAT certification at the ALAT level preferred and encouraged.

Responsabilités

• Provide daily care for various animal species including primates.
• Observe animals daily and monitor health; feed, water, exercise and Enrichment.
• Sanitize/sterilize cages and equipment; maintain animal records.
• Assist with sample collection and administration of medications/treatments.
• Prepare diets and assist with autoclaving of equipment and supplies.
• Monitor animal health status and report concerns to supervisors.
