The University of Florida is seeking an Animal Care Technician II for the Main Campus in Gainesville. You will perform complex animal care tasks, monitor animal health, maintain housing and equipment, and assist researchers in accordance with SOPs and NIH guidelines.

Required: high school diploma or equivalent with one year of relevant experience or AALAS certification; valid Florida driver's license. This full-time role offers the chance to contribute to animal welfare and laboratory research

Qualifikationen

• High school diploma or equivalent and one year of relevant experience; or certification as Assistant Laboratory Animal Technician by the American Association for Laboratory Animal Science.
• Maintains a valid state driver’s license.

Aufgaben

• Carry out Animal Care Services directives and SOPs; perform complex animal caretaking; complete cage wash activities as directed; follow SOPs including IACUC and EHS safety procedures.
• Observe animals for signs of illness or distress; document changes; assist researchers; operate cage wash equipment and perform preventive maintenance.
• May provide guidance to ACTI staff and assist in training and onboarding of new staff.
