Job summary

SGS North America Inc. is seeking a Laboratory Analyst for our Reno, NV laboratory.

The role involves preparing and analyzing samples with accuracy per SGS SOPs, working independently or as part of a team to meet daily targets and ensure hold times and turnaround times are met. The candidate should have an associate degree in chemistry or a related field with 0–2 years of experience (or 3 years in sample prep) or a bachelor’s degree with 1–2 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Chemistry or a related field with 0–2 years in analytical labs OR 3 years in sample prep.
• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related field with 1–2 years in analytical labs is preferred.
• Basic math and reasoning skills are required.
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) is required.
• GCMS and Organics methods experience is preferred.
• Experience with LIMS is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze samples according to SGS SOPs using department instrumentation.
• Perform routine operation, maintenance, and calibration of laboratory instruments/equipment.
• Assist with validation and MDL studies when needed.
• Assist with investigations and responses to client inquiries and CARs.
• Maintain Laboratory Notebook and ensure adherence to internal standards and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
