Job summary

NeoGenomics Laboratories in Aliso Viejo, CA is seeking a part-time Accessioning Technician to ensure proper handling of specimens and prepare them for testing. The role includes matching patient information, data entry, aliquoting, and scanning documents.

You will work Tuesday-Friday 8:00am-2:00pm and Saturday 10:00am-4:00pm, in a fast-paced lab environment, performing entry-level accessioning tasks, maintaining accuracy, and supporting test workflow while adhering to biosafety policies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ years of experience preferred as an Accessioning Technician.
• Proficient with MS Office programs.
• Ability to communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Receives and sorts specimens for testing.
• Reviews requisitions for missing information and coordinates with Client Services to obtain it.
• Timely data entry into LIS, label samples, create folders, and generate travel documents.
• Assembles case paperwork and files, including pre-analytic documentation and labels.
• Performs entry of add-on testing and coordinates split specimens.
• Coordinates shipment of specimens to reference laboratories and maintains client communication.
• Performs quality assurance checks of samples.
• Utilizes chain of custody logs for slides and blocks and ensures proper custody.
• Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take corrective action as required.
