Job summary

NeoGenomics in Aliso Viejo, CA is seeking an entry-level Accessioning Technician for a full-time, temporary shift Tue-Sat 12:00pm-8:30pm. The role handles specimen processing, data entry, labeling, and preparing samples for testing.

You will verify patient information, manage chain of custody, perform QA checks, and coordinate with multiple departments to ensure timely, accurate processing. High school diploma and 1+ year in accessioning preferred; strong MS Office skills and attention to detail

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ years of accessioning or lab support experience preferred.
• Proficient with MS Office and data entry.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Receives and sorts specimens for testing.
• Reviews requisitions for missing information and coordinates with Client Services.
• Data entry into LIS, labeling, and creating folders; generates travel documents.
• Assembles case paperwork and pre-analytic documentation.
• Performs entry of add-on testing and coordinates split specimens.
• Sends out specimens to reference labs and maintains logs.
• Performs quality assurance checks of samples.
• Maintain chain of custody for slides/blocks and oversee QC workflow.
• Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns.
