About the Role:

As a Mechanic within the Administrative and Support and Waste Management and Remediation Services industry, you will play a critical role in ensuring the operational efficiency and safety of diesel-powered vehicles and equipment. Your expertise will directly impact the reliability of the fleet by diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining complex mechanical systems, including brakes, fuel systems, and hydraulics. You will be responsible for performing thorough inspections and preventative maintenance to minimize downtime and extend the lifespan of diesel trucks and related machinery. Collaboration with other maintenance personnel and adherence to safety and environmental regulations will be essential to your success. Ultimately, your work will support the organization's mission by enabling smooth and safe transportation and waste management operations across the United States.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience as a diesel mechanic or in a similar mechanical maintenance role.
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines, braking systems, hydraulics, and fuel systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic reports.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to operate diesel trucks as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification from a recognized institution such as ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) in diesel mechanics.
  • Experience working within the waste management or environmental services industry.
  • Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills with electronic engine controls and alternators.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends or emergency call-outs.
