Job Summary

Responsible for delivering patient care through the nursing process to women and newborns during antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and neonatal stages. The L&D RN directs and coordinates nursing care in the Labor and Delivery Department, including labor support, monitoring maternal & fetal conditions, vital signs, and managing potential issues. Collaborates with other disciplines to ensure effective care and positive patient outcomes. Serves as a Resource nurse when oriented and as directed. Supports the organization’s vision and mission. Incorporates patient's age, developmental, spiritual, and cultural diversity into care. Contributes to quality nursing care through performance improvement techniques.

The RN provides direct care, communicates changes in clinical situations to physicians and team members, and responds promptly to changes or treatment responses.

Education, Experience, and Certifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program and licensed as a Registered Nurse in California.
• Proficient in oral and written communication.
• Ability to demonstrate leadership, teamwork, quality improvement, customer service, and professionalism.
• Current California RN license upon hire.
• Minimum 1 year of Couplet care or L&D experience.
• Certifications: BCLS, ACLS, NRP (AHA), and Basic Fetal Monitoring upon hire. Additional certifications like Birth & Beyond and Intermediate/Advanced Fetal Monitoring required within 6 months.
• Proficiency in English; additional languages such as Spanish or Chinese preferred.
