Job summary

Citi in Jersey City, New Jersey, seeks a senior engineering leader to own the design, development, delivery, and operational excellence of the Customer Risk Scoring and Decisioning Engines. You will guide teams building real-time and batch risk calculations across KYC, CDD/EDD, and AML lifecycles.

You will ensure explainability, auditability, and scalable integration with onboarding portals and RM tools while mentoring a high-performing engineering group.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of distributed, high-throughput engineering within KYC/AML riskecisioning.
• Proven expertise in KYC technology management and Finargo.
• Experience delivering stream-processing and event-driven architectures for low-latency, real-time services.
• Partner with data science/quant teams to productionize models.
• Understand KYC lifecycle and integration with onboarding and case management.
• Algorithmic explainability, reconciliation, and audit-readiness for regulators.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end software development lifecycle for core KYC risk engines, scoring platforms, and decisioning services.
• Architect high-throughput, low-latency microservices executing multi-factor risk algorithms in real-time and batch modes.
• Design stream-processing architectures to ingest real-time data updates, sanctions/PEP alerts, and signals for continuous risk scoring.
• Partner with quantitative analysts and data science teams to productionize predictive models and ML algorithms.
• Ensure scoring engines provide full explainability, factor-level breakdowns, and reproducibility for audits.
