Job summary

PNC is seeking a Software Engineering Group Manager to lead Kubernetes-based container platforms (CaaS) across on‑prem and cloud environments. You’ll shape strategy, define roadmaps, and drive adoption while balancing performance, security, and reliability for enterprise workloads.

The role requires deep Kubernetes expertise, senior leadership, and a proven ability to align technical initiatives with business goals. In-office positions across multiple cities are available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience) preferred
• 10+ years in technology with extensive leadership of Container Platform Engineering teams
• Expert knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, Helm, CI/CD tools, and cloud providers

Responsibilities

• Define the roadmap for container platforms (Kubernetes) and CaaS to support enterprise workloads
• Design, deploy, and manage highly available, secure containerized infrastructure
• Oversee product development, translate market requirements into technical specs for container runtime and security
• Promote developer usability with self-service options, APIs, and documentation
• Drive adoption across engineering teams and mentor engineers
• Ensure performance, reliability, and observability of containerized workloads
• Set standards for container orchestration and CI/CD practices
• Enforce container security best practices and policy controls
• Collaborate with DevOps, security, and networking to optimize pipelines and IaC
