Job summary

Base-2 Solutions seeks a Platform Engineer to design, develop, and optimize Kubernetes platforms powering enterprise AI capabilities for mission customers. The role is performed 100% on-site at the customer site in Bethesda, Maryland, at the Intelligence Community Campus.

Candidates should have deep Linux, container, and automation experience, with DoD clearance and DoD 8570 IAT certifications, and be a U.S. citizen.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in CS/EE or related field with 5+ years in Platform/Sys Eng.
• Strong Linux experience with RHEL/Ubuntu/Oracle/Rocky.
• Experience administering Kubernetes clusters and container workloads.
• Hands-on Docker/container lifecycle management.
• Experience with Kubernetes AI/ML workflow orchestration (Argo, Airflow, Kubeflow).
• Experience consuming RESTful APIs for integration/automation.
• Excellent problem-solving and team collaboration skills.
• U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and maintain enterprise Kubernetes platforms and optimize architecture for performance and efficiency.
• Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Salt, Ansible, Bash, Python, or similar tools.
• Collaborate to design/implement secure, automated CI/CD pipelines, incl. GitLab CI/CD.
• Troubleshoot complex systems across cloud, network, and platform layers.
• Maintain documentation, architectural specs, and Linux best practices; support ATO activities and federal security standards.
