Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Software Engineer (Kubernetes) to design and build a Kubernetes-based PaaS for a state‑of‑the‑art digital ground station. You will prototype for 12 months and continue into long‑term development, maintenance, and upgrades with cross‑functional teams.

The role emphasizes building microservices, a React frontend, and robust CI/CD pipelines while ensuring security and compliance in a Linux/kubernetes environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and containerization in building PaaS solutions.
• Proficiency in Python, Go, or C++ with strong preference for Python/Go.
• Experience with microservices architectures and modern DevOps practices.
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for automated build, test, and deployment.
• Strong Linux systems understanding and containerized app development.
• Experience deploying and troubleshooting Kubernetes clusters.

Responsibilities

• Participate in full software development lifecycle from requirements to deployment.
• Design, develop, and maintain Kubernetes-based microservices using Python, Go, JavaScript, React, and other languages.
• Develop and maintain a React-based frontend for a responsive user experience.
• Leverage open source tech for CI/CD, event-driven automation, and infra management.
• Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines for rapid, reliable software delivery.
• Write clean, well-documented code and participate in code reviews.
• Troubleshoot Kubernetes clusters and containerized applications.
• Develop and maintain Kubernetes Operators and CRDs to extend platform capabilities.
• Create and maintain Kubernetes manifests and configurations for deployment and operations.
• Ensure security and compliance across software components.
