Job summary
Numerator seeks an experienced DevOps Kubernetes Engineer to scale infrastructure from on‑premise to the cloud across multiple product teams in Chicago. You will improve reliability and observability, build self‑service tooling, and contribute to architectural decisions that impact large‑scale data platforms.
You will work with AWS/Azure/GCP, Terraform and Ansible, and collaborate with software engineers to drive automation, QA, and rapid delivery.
Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in cloud-based DevOps or related roles.
- Strong understanding of reliability, availability and performance engineering.
- Experience with Kubernetes in major cloud providers (AWS/Azure/GCP).
- Familiarity with observability tooling (Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana).
- Proficiency in Python and Go for tooling and automation.
- Experience with IaC and CICD practices in Agile environments.
Responsibilities
- Participate in design reviews, troubleshooting and documentation across teams.
- Improve observability and monitoring for large-scale systems.
- Build internal tools for performance, training and adoption.
- Plan and scope tasks during sprint planning and drive epics.
- Lead PoCs with third-party tools and vendor selections.
- Mentor teammates and advocate DevOps best practices.
