Job summary

Touro College & University System operates a university cafeteria where the Cook is responsible for preparing, cooking, and serving meals while maintaining a clean, safe kitchen environment. You will establish recipes, food safety and sanitation procedures, and follow kosher dietary guidelines as part of daily operations.

Required are a high school diploma or equivalent and at least 3 years of food preparation or cooking experience in fast-paced dining settings.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, and serve food following established recipes and the Cafeteria Manager's instructions.
• Prepare ingredients including cutting, peeling, slicing, measuring, and portioning.
• Follow kosher dietary guidelines and kitchen procedures for preparation, handling, storage, and service.
• Set up service areas and assist with serving meals to students, faculty, staff, and other community members.
• Maintain food safety, sanitation, and proper temperatures; sanitize equipment and surfaces.
