Job summary

The Department of East Asian Languages and Literatures at the University of Oregon invites applications for a funding-contingent Assistant Teaching Professor of Korean Language, nine-month basis, in Eugene, OR. The role emphasizes proficiency-driven instruction and program development supported by Korea Foundation funds.

The successful candidate will oversee curriculum from KRN 101–303, lead assessment, advise students, supervise Graduate Employees, and contribute to future Korean major

Qualifications

• The MA requirement includes applied linguistics, second language acquisition, or pedagogy with emphasis on Korean.
• Experience teaching Korean at the university level is required.
• Leadership in program development and curriculum design in Korean language programs.

Responsibilities

• Develop and coordinate Korean language courses from beginner to advanced levels.
• Lead proficiency-oriented curriculum design and assessment practices.
• Prepare annual grant deliverables and reports for Korea Foundation.
• Supervise Graduate Employees and provide advising and placement testing support.
