This nine-month position is based in Georgia and may involve teaching at the Kennesaw and/or Marietta campuses.

The successful candidate will teach Korean language and culture courses across undergraduate levels, contribute to program development, and engage in research and service activities

Job Summary

Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a full-time, tenure track faculty position as Assistant Professor of Korean in the Department of World Languages and Cultures with a preferred start date of August 2027. This is a nine-month contracted position and is for work to be performed in the state of Georgia.

Responsibilities

• Teach primarily Korean-language and culture courses from beginning through advanced undergraduate levels, as well as additional undergraduate courses based on expertise and program needs in the Asian Studies program and/or upper-level English-medium Korean culture courses in the BA in Modern Languages and Cultures program. The baseline teaching load is 3/3 for the academic year.
• Develop and maintain a high-quality, active program of research and scholarly publication.
• Use effective, evidence-informed and proficiency-oriented approaches to language teaching and contribute to the Korean-language curriculum, materials development, and assessment.
• Mentor students and contribute to the continued development, visibility, recruitment, and retention efforts of the Korean program and related interdisciplinary programs, as appropriate.
• Participate in service to the department, college, university, profession, and relevant Korean/Asian Studies initiatives.
• Seek external funding to support research and teaching.
• Teaching may occur on the Kennesaw and/or the Marietta campus.

Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.
