Job summary

Kennesaw State University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Korean in the Department of World Languages and Cultures, with a preferred start date of August 2027.

This nine-month appointment teaches Korean language and culture across undergraduate levels, develops a vigorous research program, mentors students, and contributes to curriculum, assessment, and service; teaching may occur on the Kennesaw and Marietta campuses.

Qualifications

• Earned doctorate in Korean or closely related field is required.
• Experience teaching Korean language and culture, including as instructor of record or teaching assistant.
• Native or near-native proficiency in Korean and English.
• Active program of research with publications or presentations.

Responsibilities

• Teach Korean language and culture across undergraduate levels; baseline 3/3 load.
• Develop and maintain a high-quality, active program of research and scholarly publication.
• Use proficiency-oriented approaches to language teaching and contribute to curriculum, materials, and assessment.
• Mentor students and contribute to recruitment, retention and visibility of the Korean program.
• Participate in service to the department, college, university, and related initiatives.
• Seek external funding to support research and teaching.
• Teaching may occur on the Kennesaw and/or the Marietta campus.
