Korbel AmeriCorps Affordable Housing Program Coordinator at City of Englewood
The City of Englewood is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for those we serve by providing superior services that support a vibrant and inclusive community, investing in our future through fiscally responsible decisions, and preserving our unique identity while welcoming new growth. Englewood’s core functions are organized around eight outcome areas identified in the City’s Strategic Plan: Safety, Infrastructure, Transportation, Economy, Governance, Community Engagement, Community Wellbeing, and Sustainability. Each outcome area includes goals shaped by resident input and supported by clearly defined projects designed to advance those goals.
This position reports to the City Manager’s Office and supports the Affordable Housing Program Manager through coordination, research, and implementation assistance. The Affordable Housing Program Coordinator assists with organizing information, tracking housing-related activities, and preparing materials that support the City’s affordable housing initiatives and long-range housing planning efforts. The position is designed to provide project-based, capacity-building support and exposure to municipal affordable housing policy and programs.
AmeriCorps members may communicate with supervisors to choose between two service positions, 450 hours and 300 hours.
The 450-hour service position (approximately 15 hours/week) begins on January 4, 2027, and ends August 31, 2027. This position will dedicate approximately 350 hours to service, 30 hours developing leadership skills through classroom instruction, and 70 hours in trainings and community-building activities.
The 300-hour service position (approximately 15 hours/week) begins on January 4, 2027, and ends June 30, 2027. This position will dedicate 225 hours to service, 30 hours developing leadership skills through classroom instruction, and 45 hours in trainings and community-building activities.
The member will serve approximately 15 hours per week, scheduled flexibly within the standard service window of Monday - Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, in coordination with the member's supervisor and class schedule. This is a hybrid position, with the expectation that the member will serve in person at the Englewood Civic Center as needed for meetings and coordination. Occasional evening or weekend hours may be required to support community engagement events (e.g., housing workshops, homebuyer education sessions) with advance notice provided whenever possible.
Korbel AmeriCorps members will receive training and experience in the public service sector, community engagement, and program implementation. Up to 20% of total hours served may be spent in applicable approved trainings. Korbel AmeriCorps members will complete a 4-credit course at the Josef Korbel School of Global and Public Affairs on public administration and nonprofit management, which will count towards training hours. Members will also have an opportunity to participate in group community service days.
