Job summary

Road & Rail Services seeks a hands-on Terminal Manager to lead our transloading operation in Knoxville, Tennessee. This role blends field leadership with accountable management, coaching staff, and ensuring safe, efficient performance at the terminal.

You will supervise daily transloading, oversee budgets, safety meetings, and customer communications while maintaining equipment and grounds in good condition. This is not desk-only; you’ll work outdoors with your team.

Qualifications

• Two years of management or supervisory experience
• Experience in transloading, rail operations, or industrial environments
• Ability to lead, coach, and hold teams accountable

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate daily transloading and terminal activities
• Lead, train, coach, schedule, and develop terminal employees
• Conduct safety meetings and reinforce safe work practices
• Ensure products are transferred safely according to procedures
• Monitor productivity, labor utilization, and operating expenses
• Support budgets and established P&L objectives
• Maintain accurate operational, safety, training, and customer documentation
• Communicate with customers and address service or operational concerns
• Identify operational problems and implement practical solutions
• Ensure equipment, work areas, and terminal grounds are maintained
