Job summary

Giro Pack, Inc. is seeking a Knitting Operator Trainee to support production at our Vidalia, GA facility.

Trainee schedule includes training Monday–Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, then transitions to 2nd shift (2:00 pm–10:00 pm) or 3rd shift (10:00 pm–6:00 am) on weekdays. The role involves operating and maintaining knitting equipment used in the fruit/vegetable packaging industry, with emphasis on safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 pounds).
• Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
• Familiarity with power tools and machinery is a plus.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Commitment to safety rules and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Very good vision and detail-oriented focus.

Responsibilities

• Operate knitted machines per supervisor instructions.
• Complete required production forms accurately.
• Maintain and lubricate production machinery as needed.
• Keep work area clean and safe at all times.
• Ensure knitting material and core material are stocked and organized.
• Transport finished products to designated areas and report scrap material.

Job description

Giro Pack, Inc. is looking for one (1) Knitting Operator Trainee to support production operations at our Vidalia, GA. location. Currently the selected candidate will be trained Monday - Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, once training is completed the candidate will work on 2nd shift, Monday- Friday (2:00 pm -10:00 pm) or 3rd Shift, Monday - Friday (10:00 pm - 6:00 am)

The Knitting Operator plays an integral part in the manufacturing of products within the fruit/vegetable packaging industry and is responsible for the safe/efficient operation of thirty industrial knitting machines.

Knitting Operator job duties include:

• Ensuring knitting machines are operated correctly and report any shortcomings to the supervisor/maintenance in a timely manner
• Complete required production forms
• Maintain/Lube production machinery as needed
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• Maintain a clean and safe work area
• Ensure knitting material and core material are properly stocked
• Transfer scrap materials to assigned area
• Scan/transport finished products to assigned area
• Conduct other tasks as assigned by supervisor

Requirements and skills:
