Job summary

Automation Personnel Services is seeking several Mechanic Helper for a sock manufacturing facility in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The position focuses on maintaining knitting machines, performing repairs, and assisting during shifts, including overtime as needed.

During training, schedule is Mon-Fri 8:00am-4:00pm, expanding to 8:00am-8:00pm after hire. This full-time temporary-to-hire role offers weekly pay and benefits through APS.

Qualifications

• Basic education in reading, writing & mathematics.
• Minimum of 1 year fixing experience on knitting machines.
• Basic knowledge of computer & keypad functions, including machine functions.
• Experience using hand tools (pliers, tweezers, air nozzles).
• Able to climb a ladder and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Repair machines when mechanical failure occurs.
• Keep maintenance up to date on assigned machines.
• Ensure machine safety stops & yarn sensors are working properly.
• Report any safety stops or missing sensors to supervisor.
• Ensure machine oilers are functioning.
• Check quality of sock after repair of each machine.
